Who are Explorer Scouts?
Explorer Scouts are young people, males and females, between the ages for fourteen and eighteen. They meet regularly as Explorer Scouts and often as young leader to other sections. Explorer Scouts have a partnership with a group but their membership is with the Scout District.
The unit meetings will be guided by Explorer Scout Leaders, Assistant Leaders and Unit Assistants.
Programme and Activities.
The Unit will undertake a bananced programme of activities with the aim of achieving high awards within Scouting.
There will also be opportunities to undertake the Duke of Edinburgh Award and Queen's Scout Award.
It is expected the Unit members will work in conjunction with the leaders to put their programme together in order to develop the qualities of team leadership and responsibility for personal development.
It is expected that the programme will involve a greater number of outdoor activities and those of a more adventurous nature.
The balanced programme can continue into membership of the Scout Network from the age of eighteen years.
